Since 2015, A-CORROS has been located on the premises of the technology platform “Les Ateliers du P\u00f4le”<\/a> (formerly “ARCHEOMED”), a business centre devoted to cultural heritage and creative and cultural industries based in Arles.<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Within the premises of “Les Ateliers du P\u00f4le”, A-CORROS encompasses a total surface area of 350 m\u00b2 including 150 m\u00b2 of offices and laboratories and a 200-m\u00b2 atelier used for mechanical and chemical treatments, and the restoration and storage of heavy or bulky objects. This area is equipped with shared lifting machinery (a 2T forklift and gantry that can accommodate loads up to 3.5T). Thanks to “Les Ateliers du P\u00f4le”\u2019s shared warehouse space, the available surface area can be temporarily expanded to accommodate large-scale restoration operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dedicated areas for specific\ninterventions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  • A\nlaboratory for treatment of archaeological artefacts<\/li>
  • A\nspace for microscopy<\/li>
  • A\nlaboratory for chemistry and sample preparation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    In accordance with hygiene and safety\nregulations, the laboratory is equipped with a tank for storage and retention\nof chemicals regularly evacuated by specialized services. All the premises of A-CORROS\nare protected by alarm and insured.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Equipment and materials<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    • PPE – Personal protective\nequipment <\/li>
    • Equipment\nfor photography as well as endoscopic observation <\/li>
    • Portable\nX-ray fluorescence characterisation equipment <\/li>
    • Equipment\nfor taking samples and making metallographic replicas<\/li>
    • Specialised\ntools for detection and measurement<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      In addition, we can conduct more in-depth\nanalyses and observations thanks to our partnership with the LERM in Arles,\nLAPA in Saclay and IUT Mat\u00e9riaux in N\u00eemes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Scanning\nElectron Microscope coupled with an Energy Dispersion Spectrometer (MEB-EDS), <\/li>
      • X-ray\ndiffractometer,<\/li>
      • Atomic\nAbsorption Spectrometer (ICP-AES).<\/li>
      • X-ray\nmachine<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
